Harrington merupakan jaket ringan sepinggang yang dibuat dari bahan katun, polyester, dan wool biasanya menggunakan pola tartan pada bagian dalam jaket. Tartan sendiri merupakan pola kotak-kotak berurut dari garis vertikal dan horizontal dalam berbagai warna. Gaya jaket ini diberi nama "Harrington" berasal dari karakter Rodney Harrington yang diperankan oleh Ryan O'Neal pada 1960-an di acara TV Series Peyton Place.
Gaya jaket harrington pertama kali dibuat oleh perusahaan sandang dari British Grenfell di Burnley, Lanchashire dan Baracuta di Stockport, Cheshire di sekitar tahun 1930-an. Maka dari itu, jaket harrington buatan Baracuta merupakan original tipe jaket harrington yang mempelopori tipe jaket ini. Di tahun 2012, Baracuta tetap membuat model yang sama, G9.

Beberapa tokoh yang turut mempopulerkan jaket harrington merk Baracuta ini diantaranya Elvis Presley yang menggunakan Baracuta G9 ketika dia bermain di film King Creole tahun 1958. Paling ikonik dan terkenal adalah Steve McQueen yang mengenakan Baracuta G9 di sampul Life Magazine pada tahun 1963 dan 'The Crown Affair Thomas' film pada tahun 1968, Frank Sinatra (yang mengenakan Jaket G9 di 'Assult On A Queen' pada tahun 1966), Golfer Arnold Palmer, Christopher Reeve mengenakan G9 Natural sebagai Superman dalam film 1980 dan belakangan ini terlihat Thierry Henry menggunakan jaket harrington

Banyak digunakan oleh The punks, skinhead dan mod revivalists, dan scooterist. The Clash, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Palmer (yang sekarang menjadi Brand ternama juga untuk produk sandang) dan lain-lain. Para revivalis membawa kembali Harrington dan ini yang benar-benar ditendang dari dalam budaya Terrace (Football Fans), karena mod dan skinhead revivalis adalah bagian besar dari Terrace pada saat itu.
Tahun 1980-an
Mods, skins revivalis maupun scooterboys masih di sini, bersama dengan punk. Dikenakan oleh The Clash, Michael Keaton dan lain-lain. Budaya Terrace sekarang semua Casuals, tapi Harrington masih di sini. Bersamaan munculnya kultur Casuals, harrington biasanya dipakai bersamaan dengan baju merk Fred Perry atau Ben Sherman.
